“The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent.
The only thing more glorious than the city itself was its inhabitants, Godlike beings, with silvery skin and hair of the purest, flowing white. Able to create powerful magics with a mere wave of their hands, the Elantrians were able to heal mortal wounds and create any object they desired. To be an Elantrian was to be without sickness, without pain and without want.
But Elantris fell…ten years ago.”
So ten years after the most beautiful city in the world fell, the corpse of the city, and the not quite dead people inside of it, are all that remains. Outside the city though the world continued to turn, and another city took place in the shadow of the once great city.
This book was interesting in that it followed three different main characters, as opposed to one, telling the same story from three different points, but never repeating anything.
With this system the book can tell a powerful political story, how different people can try to achieve the same goals while stopping each others.
By the end of the book I was definitely craving more.
The overall book was amazing, the plot moved at a steady pace, and always kept my attention, the characters were emotionally written as if they were almost real, the setting could possibly use some more description, but honestly this book will keep you guessing until the end.
I can't say much more, I just loved this book. I plan on reading more from this author soon. In the meantime if you want to grab a copy of this book I posted a link below, along with coupons.

What I learn'd
When I read the Hunger Games, the main plot, the characters, and landscape, it was all so beautifully well written. So it took me a few days to realize that I learned something from it.
Behind the tale of survival is another tale, a tale of freedom. I'm sure this will be emphasized more in the next few books. I just couldn't shake this feeling of 'there's more to life than just surviving, you have to thrive'.
I'm sure to most of you this lesson was obvious, but when I did realize it I decided to take another step in my life, not just get by, but I'm going to start writing my novel(s) again.
Thank you Suzanne Collins

Hunger Games Review'd
"Twenty-four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death - televised for all of Panem to see.
Survival is second nature for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who struggles to feed her mother and younger sister by secretly hunting and gathering beyond the fences of District 12. When Katniss steps in to take the place of her sister in the Hunger Games, she knows it may be her death sentence. If she is to survive, she must weigh survival against humanity and life against love. "
As usual I'm behind on the times.
I found a bought this book probably a year back and never even made it past the first chapter, something about how popular it had become had pushed me away. The first chapter being a bit slow didn't help.
So when I find that I can get the book for free on my Kindle fire, well there's that, it's time for a real read. Boy was I glad that I did. From start to finish, the book was completed in one night and I was tired. Not for myself, or my lack of sleep, but for the exhausting trip the characters took.
Needless to say I enjoyed this book, so let me tell you about it.

Katniss is a first. We're all used to the Mary-Sue main character, and Katniss wasn't it. Our author knew this character, and the effect her life had on her. She's a bid cunning, a bit ruthless, and definitely a good shot. So when she is found volunteering for the hunger games to save her 12 year old sister from being forced into it, I wondered. 'Will she make it?'
After years of reading books and watching television I've gotten used to the idea that the main character survives. This book had me unsure really unsure, and I won't spoil it for you. As a matter of fact, this is probably one of the best parts. You don't know if she is going to survive, even in the last chapter and her every triumph, is yours. Even more, the book gets you involved with other side character and now you're wondering if really they'll be the ones to survive instead of Katniss.
The book is thrilling to the end, the story a bit hearwarming, but too heartbreaking to make you smile, and at the end of it you will be ruffling your hair in frustration wanting to know what happens next. Warning, there is a cliffhanger.
All in all, I loved this book, it was beautiful. I recommend reading it. So for your benefit I'm posting an amazon-link to it in this post, and a link to some possible amazon coupons, so you can get it for cheaper!>

Meaningful Things
Sometimes it just slips out when I'm talking to a friend. Something awesome and quote worthy and I think to myself, 'did I just say that'?
Quotes are beautiful, and words of wisdom are wonderful, but when it's something you accidentally say, because you mean it, then it's amazing.
I'm going to start keeping track of these things that I accidentally say, and I hope you will too, and comment them on the blog please.

Some of mine:
"Sorry you're not perfect, you're amazing, and that's so much better!"
"If you're alone, go and have fun anyway. Because people who are alone and not having fun will want to join you."
"It's ok that you're not ok, but being ok is ok too."
"You're beautiful, because I think so, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, not even you, because you're still beautiful."Please post any accidental, but beautiful, things you have said.
